Effective date: September 9, 2026
This privacy policy explains how Task One LLC (“Task One,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information in Holler: Microphone for Sonos (“Holler”) for iPhone and iPad.
Information Task One collects through Holler
Task One does not collect, receive, sell, or share personal information through the Holler app. Holler does not include user accounts, advertising, third-party analytics, or tracking technologies.
Microphone audio
Holler uses the microphone only after you grant permission and start Live or record a Message. Audio is made available directly from your device to the compatible speakers you select over your local network. It is not uploaded to a Task One server or relayed through a Task One cloud service.
Live audio is buffered transiently while broadcasting. Message audio is written to a temporary file on your device while recording, loaded into memory when recording ends, and then removed from temporary storage. Holler does not retain an archive of your broadcasts.
Local-network speaker information
Holler requests local-network access to discover, identify, and control compatible Sonos speakers. The app may read room names, model and system information, network addresses, grouping, playback state, and volume from those speakers. Holler keeps a limited speaker cache and related preferences on your device to improve rediscovery and restoration. Task One does not receive this information.
Information stored on your device
Holler stores settings, a limited speaker cache, and trial state locally. The trial start date is stored in the iOS Keychain, with an on-device preferences fallback, so it may remain after Holler is deleted and reinstalled. Other app data is ordinarily removed when you delete the app, subject to Apple's platform behavior and backups.
Purchases
Holler Pro purchases and restorations are processed by Apple through StoreKit and are subject to Apple’s privacy practices and terms. Task One does not receive your payment-card details or Apple Account credentials. Holler contacts Apple’s StoreKit service to obtain product availability and determine whether the purchase is owned.
Network boundaries
Other devices on your local network participate in speaker discovery and audio playback. Use Holler only on a local network you trust. Holler does not provide remote internet broadcasting, and Task One cannot listen to, recover, or relay your audio.
Support communications
If you contact us for support through this website, we receive the email address, message, and any other information you choose to provide. We use that information only to respond to your request and maintain necessary business records. Do not include recorded audio, network passwords, payment details, or other sensitive information.
Children’s privacy
Holler does not knowingly collect personal information from children or any other users. Holler is not designated as a Made for Kids app.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy if Holler’s features or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy here and update its effective date.
