Effective date: November 7, 2026
This privacy policy explains how Task One LLC (“Task One,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information in FileHunter: Disk Space Scanner (“FileHunter”) for Mac.
Information Task One collects through FileHunter
Task One does not collect, receive, sell or share personal information through the FileHunter app. The app has no Task One user account, advertising, analytics or tracking technologies, and it does not send file names, sizes, scan results or usage to Task One.
How FileHunter reads your files
FileHunter reads only the folder or drive you choose. It reads file and folder names, sizes, dates and locations to build its results, and it never opens, changes, moves, deletes or uploads your files. Scan results are kept in memory while the app is open. FileHunter stores a macOS permission bookmark so it can scan the same location again; this stays on your Mac and is removed when you delete the app, subject to Apple’s platform behavior and backups.
Exported reports
If you export a report, FileHunter writes it only to the location you choose in the save dialog. The report lists the paths, sizes and dates of the large files found. What happens to it afterward is up to you; if you share it with another service, that service’s privacy policy applies.
Network use
FileHunter does not use the network.
Support communications
If you contact us for support through this website, we receive the email address, message and any other information you choose to provide. We use that information only to respond to your request and maintain necessary business records. Do not include passwords.
Children’s privacy
FileHunter does not knowingly collect personal information from children or any other users. FileHunter is not designated as a Made for Kids app.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy if FileHunter’s features or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy here and update its effective date.
