Media Cast privacy policy

We collect no data

Task One LLC does not collect any data through Media Cast. The app has no analytics, advertising, tracking, crash reporting, account system, or third-party SDKs, and no developer-operated server.

Information stored on your Mac

Your playlists, Recently Played history, room choices, settings, and trial start date are stored only on your Mac. They are not sent to Task One LLC.

The YouTube player

Videos play in the embedded YouTube player, which is provided by YouTube and Google. It uses YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com) and a fresh browser session each time Media Cast opens, which is not kept after you quit. YouTube's handling of your viewing is subject to the Google Privacy Policy and the YouTube Terms of Service.

To show video titles and thumbnails, Media Cast looks up the links you add through YouTube's public oEmbed service.

Sonos and local-network playback

Media Cast uses Local Network access to find your Sonos speakers and stream to them. The sound of its own window goes directly from your Mac to the speakers you choose on your local network. It is not sent to Task One servers. Nothing is downloaded or saved.

Purchases and trial

Apple processes in-app purchases and provides verified purchase information to Media Cast so it can enable or restore Media Cast Pro. The seven-day trial starts on your Mac at first launch. Task One does not receive your payment details.

Support and website visits

If you email us or submit our website contact form, we receive the information you choose to provide and use it to respond and maintain support records. Opening support or privacy links visits the Task One website, whose hosting and contact services process those visits separately from the app. Contact us to request deletion of support correspondence, subject to legitimate retention requirements.

Children

Media Cast does not collect children's personal information through the app. Apple controls purchase authorization, including Ask to Buy when enabled.
