This privacy policy explains how Task One LLC (“Task One,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information in Piano Jukebox: Score Player (“Piano Jukebox”) for iPhone, iPad and Mac.
Information Task One collects through Piano Jukebox
Task One does not collect, receive, sell or share personal information through the Piano Jukebox app. The app has no Task One user account, advertising, analytics or tracking technologies, and it does not send your scores or usage to Task One.
Scores and data stored on your device
When you import scores, Piano Jukebox copies the files into its own storage on your device, together with your library folders, queue order, playback position and settings. Your original files are not changed. This data stays on your device and is ordinarily removed when you delete the app, subject to Apple’s platform behavior and backups. Piano Jukebox shows the title and composer of the current score in the system’s playback controls, such as the Lock Screen on iPhone and iPad.
Google Drive
Connecting Google Drive is optional. If you choose to connect, you sign in through Google, and Piano Jukebox asks for read-only access to your Google Drive (the drive.readonly permission). Piano Jukebox uses this access only to:
- show your Google account name or email address in the app, so you can see which account is connected;
- list the folders and files in the folder you are browsing; and
- download the score files in the folder you choose to import, and its subfolders if you choose to include them.
Downloaded scores are stored only on your device, as described above. Piano Jukebox never creates, modifies, moves, shares or deletes anything in your Google Drive. Folder listings and file contents go directly from Google to your device; they are not sent to Task One or to anyone else, and they are not used for advertising, analytics or training machine-learning models. People at Task One cannot read your Google data.
Piano Jukebox stores the sign-in credentials issued by Google in the Keychain on your device so you stay connected. To disconnect on iPhone or iPad, open the Google Drive sheet in the app, tap the … button and choose Disconnect; on the Mac, open the Google Drive window and click Disconnect. Disconnecting removes the credentials from your device and asks Google to revoke access. You can also revoke access at any time from your Google Account under Security → Your connections to third-party apps & services. Scores you already imported stay in Piano Jukebox until you delete them.
Piano Jukebox’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Google Sign-In
On iPhone and iPad, signing in uses Google’s Google Sign-In software. On the Mac, Piano Jukebox opens Google’s sign-in page in your web browser, which returns you to the app on the same Mac. Either way, Google processes the sign-in under the Google Privacy Policy. As part of signing in, Google may receive information such as your account identifiers, device information and approximate location. Task One does not receive this information. If you never connect Google Drive, Piano Jukebox does not contact Google.
Network use
Apart from Google Sign-In and the Google Drive API when you choose to use them, Piano Jukebox does not use the network. Playback, notation and your library work offline.
Support communications
If you contact us for support through this website, we receive the email address, message and any other information you choose to provide. We use that information only to respond to your request and maintain necessary business records. Do not include passwords or Google account details.
Children’s privacy
Piano Jukebox does not knowingly collect personal information from children or any other users. Piano Jukebox is not designated as a Made for Kids app.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy if Piano Jukebox’s features or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy here and update its effective date.
