Piano Jukebox Support
Help with importing scores, Google Drive, folders, playback and notation.
Contact support
Send a Piano Jukebox support request with a description of the issue, your device (iPhone, iPad or Mac) and its iOS, iPadOS or macOS version. If a particular score misbehaves, say whether it is MIDI or MusicXML. Please do not send passwords or Google account details.
Import scores from Files or iCloud Drive
- In the library, tap +, then Files & iCloud Drive.
- Choose Choose Scores for individual files or Choose Folder to import a folder and its subfolders.
- Pick the files or folder. Piano Jukebox copies them into its library; your originals are not changed.
Supported formats are MIDI (.mid, .midi) and MusicXML (.musicxml, .xml, .mxl). Files in other formats are skipped and listed in the import details.
Import on the Mac
- Choose File → Add Scores… (⌘O) for individual files or File → Add Folder… (⇧⌘O) for a folder and its subfolders.
- Or drag files and folders into the Piano Jukebox window.
- For Google Drive, choose File → Add from Google Drive…, click Connect Google Drive and sign in on Google’s page in your web browser. Then browse and import as described below; Disconnect is in the same window.
Import from Google Drive
- Tap +, then Google Drive, and sign in with Google.
- Browse to the folder that holds your scores. Leave Include subfolders on to import the whole tree.
- Tap Import This Folder. When it finishes, tap Done.
Importing a folder again adds another copy. To disconnect, open the Google Drive sheet, tap the … button and choose Disconnect. You can also remove access from your Google Account under Security → Your connections to third-party apps & services.
Folders
The top of the library lists your folders and any scores outside a folder; open a folder to see its scores. Long-press a score and choose Move to Folder to organize it. Deleting a folder removes it, its subfolders and their imported scores from Piano Jukebox after you confirm. Originals in Files, iCloud Drive and Google Drive are never deleted.
Playback and notation
- Tap a note to jump to it; tap the clef at the start of a line to restart that line’s first bar.
- Turn off Follow above the score to browse freely while the music plays.
- Change note size from the notation menu in the toolbar.
- Speed and volume are in the playback settings in the toolbar.
Every part plays on piano and MIDI drum tracks are skipped. Notation for MIDI files is generated from the performance, so rhythms and spelling can differ from a printed edition.
